As a Hygienist at Same Day Dental, you will uphold high levels of responsibility and professionalism while focusing on excellent patient care.

Requirements and responsibilities of a hygienist at Same Day Dental:


· Warm and welcoming invitation of patients into the clinical area

· Capture and assessment of patient vitals, including heart rate, blood pressure, and blood-oxygen saturation

· Administering patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse

· Entry and maintenance of electronic patient records, including medical history and proposed treatment

· Effective exposure of prescribed digital radiographs, based on patient indication of trouble area

· Applying preventative and therapeutic agents under general supervision of the dentist

· Adept delivery of oral procedures as recommended or prescribed by the supervising dentist

· Capability of maintaining rapport with multiple patients at once during times of high demand

· Preparation of appropriate instrumentation, equipment, and materials for each procedure

· Provision of effective assistance to the active dentist during dental procedures

· Sterilization of dental instrumentation according to regulations and practice standards

· Maintenance of dental equipment and facility according to manufacturer and practice standards

· Administer anesthetic agents in accordance with scope of practice to facilitate patient flow and dentist efficiency

· Removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth

· Applying preventive materials to the teeth

· Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health

· Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts

· Successful completion of internal training programs

· Effective communication with management and co-workers regarding improvements and suggestions




· Three years proven experience as a dental hygienist required; five years preferred

· Demonstrated knowledge of dental instrumentation, sterilization, and anesthetic methods

· Understanding of health and safety regulations

· Capability of comforting and empathizing with patients in need

· Reliability and responsibility as it relates to attendance and job performance

· Ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and management

· Demonstration of pride in one's work and the services provided to patients

· Aptitude with digital radiography and electronic health records

· Active dental radiographer and state specific licensure
